Current Opportunities
We’re looking for an outgoing, confident individual to join our passionate distillery team and help spread the word and good work of Gorilla Spirits.
Role
Our Distillery Experiences are a memorable and immersive experience for participants. This is a flexible role that requires a great deal of responsibility, including but not limited to the following:
Tours – distillery tours provide guests with a behind-the-scenes peek into the world of spirits making. Your role will involve taking guests on a guided tour of our distillery and talking them through who we are and what we do, and why our charitable contribution is so important to us. You will also guide guests through a tasting of our product range.
Masterclasses – our cocktail masterclasses aim to help guests uncover some of the great mysteries of cocktail making and get them behind the bar mixing, shaking and muddling their way through the event. Your role will be to host the masterclasses, demonstrating how to make our signature cocktails and introducing guests to techniques and tips to help equip them to recreate their own cocktails at home.
Gin school: our gin school experience gives guests the opportunity to take charge of a fully functioning mini copper pot still and produce their very own bottle of gin to take home with them. Your main role will be to guide our guests through their gin school experience, teaching them about distillation and the craft of gin making, and helping them to distil their own gin using a mini copper pot still. Training will be provided.
Other responsibilities will include welcoming and seating guests, serving drinks, managing shop sales and helping coordinate cleaning down from one experience and setting up the next.
Experience:
Experience of working in a fast-paced business, possibly gained from working within the hospitality sector would be advantageous, however, what we are really looking for is an individual who is outgoing and approachable, has the confidence to deliver classes and a passion for providing an exceptional customer experience. Some knowledge of bartending or mixology is necessary for the role – we are looking for someone who is comfortable behind the bar making cocktails and drinks. Experience in delivering tours or in a similar field would helpful, but not vital. The role would be well suited to someone who has is interested in food and cooking, or craft spirits and distilling. Staff must be reliable, flexible and trust-worthy.
Job Type:
This is a casual position and demand varies throughout the year. You should have a willingness and ability to work weekends and, on occasion, evenings.
Salary:
Competitive/hourly, staff discount.
