Everything starts with our people who are all full of enthusiasm for the world of spirits. Whoever you talk to on the team you’ll see their eyes light up when you engage them in a conversation about spirits (especially ours of course) and the world of drinks. All of our team are qualified to at least WSET Spirits Level 2 and each has their own particular passion. As a team we like to challenge the norm and break down barriers which is a key ingredient to creating amazing spirits.
Although craft in nature we don’t believe that to be ‘craft’ you need to do things the way they were done two thousand years ago. That’s why you’ll see us using state-of-the-art technology to provide ultimate control over our spirits production. We are meticulous in our approach and maniacally focused on consistency and quality, from sourcing botanicals right through the production stages to bottling and packing.
The name of our still, Mugwaneza is from the Kinyarwanda language (the national language of Rwanda where many of the Mountain Gorilla population live) meaning ‘she who is content’
Mugwaneza is the mother of our spirits; the lady that creates our products. Without this beautiful copper still, none of our products would exist.
